Summary of the initiative
It is an initiative to support girls and boys aged 6 to 13 who live in a situation of marginalization and social degradation in the city of Chihuahua, Vistas Cerro Grande and surrounding neighbourhoods. It is identified as one of the high priority areas due to the situation of strong marginalization in which the population lives. This area has a high rate of backwardness and school dropout, as well as absenteeism in schools. Boys and girls, when they are not at school, spend their time on the streets becoming prey to criminal groups and at risk of drug addiction. Sr. Leisly Yuritsi has therefore thought of starting educational workshops in which children, between 6 and 12 years old, receive support with homework, can practice sports, receive an approach to music and theatre and learn how to use the computer. They are also guaranteed psychological and nutritional assistance.
