FOUNDATION
The Canossian Foundation VOICA – ETS, founded in 2004 by the will of the Canossian Institute, promotes and accompanies, throughout the world, the integral education of young women, boys and children in conditions of general poverty, marginalization or hardship so that they become men and women, active protagonists in society.
We believe that those who add value to an organization are above all the people who work there. The Canossian Foundation VOICA – ETS is made up of a small but efficient team of people who dedicate themselves full time to realizing out projects and daily activities. The daily commitment is in support of greater collective social well-being and in the creation of a more equitable world, where children and women can have access to education and hope for a better life.
MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
Collect resources to carry out educational, health and social-assistance projects within the Canossian works of charity; the promotion and awareness of social solidarity throughout the world, carrying out development cooperation activities in the countries where the Sisters are present; the modernization of the management systems of the Canossian works, supporting the formation of a project mentality with the management in “project phases” and the economic-financial accounting to be presented to the various funding bodies.
The vision of the Canossian Foundation VOICA – ETS draws inspiration both from the Christian anthropological vision expressed in the Social Doctrine of the Church, and from the main international Declarations on human rights for the protection of the rights of children and women.
HOW WE WORK
The main action of the Canossian Foundation VOICA – ETS is to help the poorest of the poor in the world, supporting various forms of development education and helping to reduce inequalities and injustices. Different methodological approaches are used: initiatives to arouse awareness and provide information, professional training and development education, promotion of human rights and the centrality of children and women in civil society, activation of intercultural exchanges and creation of networks of associations for the defence and protection of human values.
The interventions in developing countries where the Canossian works are present focus mainly on education as a key factor in human development, promotion and protection of fundamental rights.
